I am an Associate Professor of ​Economics at the University at Buffalo and a Research Affiliate at the IZA Institute of Labor Economics. I study the intended and unintended consequences of employment laws and public policies that are meant to protect workers, with a particular focus on older workers and women. My research covers age discrimination, intersectional discrimination, gig work, health insurance mandates, and how artificial intelligence is reshaping the labor market for vulnerable populations.
